Bajot tables (or pooja chowki as they are sometimes known) are beautiful, sometimes hand-painted, tables that were topped with statues of gods and goddesses to protect the home, family and farmland. In Northern India, they were also used as low dining tables in traditional Indian havelis. Each evening, families would sit on the floor and enjoy hearty, fragrant meals together. Crafted from solid teak with original iron strapwork intact, this piece has been gently reinvigorated with a wash of white.
